The Laimburg Research Centre is the leading research institute for agriculture and food quality in South Tyrol (Italy). We operate mainly in applied research with the aim of increasing the competitiveness and sustainability of South Tyrolean agriculture and of ensuring the quality of agricultural products.
The Laboratory for Flavours and Metabolites is looking for the research project PINOT BLANC (funded by the European Regional Development Fund 2014-2020 Investments in Growth and Employment – project FESR1010 - CUP H32F16000410009) for a highly motivated
Researcher/ Scientist (m/f)
The areas of responsibility are as follows:
Main tasks include analysis of the volatile composition of the Pinot blanc wines and musts with GC-MS and analysis of the aminoacidic content of musts and flavonol composition of Pinot blanc grapes with LC-MS, including method optimization, sample collection and preparation, determination of oenology parameters, evaluation of results and reporting.
- MSc in Chemistry, Biotechnology, Physics, Biology, Pharmacy or similar (completed university studies of at least four years attested by a diploma)
Desired additional competences:
- Knowledge of analytical chemistry
- Fluent in German and / or Italian
- Good knowledge of spoken and written English (can be evaluated during the interview)
- Pertinent PhD, Post-Doc or work experience and a relevant publication record are an advantage
- Experience of VOC analysis with GC-MS
- Experience of primary metabolites with LC-MS
- Availability August 2019
- Good organizational and communication skills
- Candidates should be highly motivated, able to work independently and possess good team-working skills
Contract duration: until 30. 11. 2020, full time
