Agricultural Estates

The Laimburg Estate manages property in highly diverse areas and altitudes throughout South Tyrol. The farms that comprise the estate represent nearly every branch of local agriculture: from mountain farming to cultivation of specialised crops, from fruit growing and viticulture to horticulture, from fish farming to bee keeping. Laimburg’s external landholdings are administered as if they were individual private farms; a separate farm manager leads each one. Farming practices generally follow Integrated Production (IP) guidelines. Depending upon the specific goals of the individual project, however, fully organic production may also be used. Most of the facilities are made available to the students of the Laimburg Professional School for Fruit Growing, Viticulture and Gardening for practical application of their academic studies.
