Molecular Biology

Molecular Biology is the youngest section of the Research Centre for Agriculture and Forestry Laimburg. In the associated laboratory innovative DNA- and RNA-based techniques, such as PCR, RT-PCR, qualitative and quantitative real-time PCR, DNA sequencing, various DNA-fragment analyses as well as microarray techniques are used to find answers to various problems in agriculture in South Tyrol.

The Section Molecular Biology is organised in three divisions:

• Gene Bank
• Population Genetics
