Entomology
The Department of Entomology carries out basic research on the biology and ecology of both pests and beneficial organisms. Special attention is paid to the development of alternatives to chemical-based pesticides. The emergence of pests in various crops is continuously tracked and documented. Technical support is also given in the sector of apiculture: the primary question is the threat that pesticide use may pose to bee populations.
- Basic research on the biology of pests and beneficial organisms

- Development and testing of organic alternatives to pesticides, including biocontrol solutions
- Study of resistance development in pests
- Monitoring of the most harmful pests and organisms in agriculture
- Research on potentially detrimental effects of pesticides on bees
- Exploration of the reasons for damage seen in bee populations
