Vegetable Growing

The favourable climate of high-altitude sites allows farmers to cultivate vegetables that are of outstanding quality and highly regarded by consumers. Vegetable growing is therefore firmly integrated in South Tyrol’s agriculture.

In practically-oriented research, new varieties of the most important vegetable cultivars are continually being tested. This helps agriculture to adapt to the ever-changing demands of the marketplace. The goal is to find the most environmentally-friendly cultivation methods possible, and to offer healthy produce of the highest quality to consumers.
