What we offer
What we offer our employees
Active participation in sustainable and forward-looking agriculture and food production
Laimburg Research Centre is the research institution for agriculture and the food processing sector in South Tyrol. In our research activity we place great importance on practical relevance and pursue the objective of increasing the competitiveness and sustainability of South Tyrol’s agriculture and food processing sectors. On the one hand, in trial plots and our superbly equipped laboratories we work on concrete solutions to the problems of agricultural practice, whilst on the other hand we are also concerned with fundamental research into specific areas of focus. Our newly acquired knowledge and research results are passed to our stakeholders – directly and via the advisory organisations. In addition to its headquarters amidst orchards and vineyards in Vadena, Laimburg Research Centre has additional locations where its employees work according to discipline: at the NOI Techpark in Bolzano, where some of our laboratories are sited, as well as Oris in the Val Venosta Valley and Teodone in the Val Pusteria Valley, where we are engaged in research into mountain agriculture.
Networking with national and international partners
Laimburg Research Centre has research partners in South Tyrol as well as in Austria and internationally, participates in international research projects and is a member of a variety of domestic and international research networks.
Interdisciplinary and cooperative team
We offer our employees a dynamic and state-of-the-art working environment, a diverse range of topics and an interdisciplinary way of working as well as open exchanges between colleagues. We set great store by respectful and appreciative cooperation, personal responsibility and transparent communication.
Compatibility of career and home life
With flexible working time models, part-time employment, smart working and allowances for childcare, we help our employees to reconcile their work and home life as well as possible in order to achieve a measured work-life balance and greater family-friendliness.
Internal and external training opportunities
We never stop learning and developing. For this reason, we offer extensive training opportunities including attendances at scientific conferences for all employees.
Company canteen
In our in-house canteen we offer our employees balanced meals at low prices.
Parking and public transport links
There are plenty of parking spaces available at Laimburg Research Centre and its satellite offices. Furthermore, the Research Centre is also accessible by train (via Ora) and bus. A direct cycle path from Bolzano and the possibility of car sharing with colleagues offer yet more ways of getting here quickly and easily.
Support with doctoral studies
Gaining work experience whilst studying for a doctorate: we support our employees with their academic studies such as doctoral, Bachelor’s or Master’s theses. For example, each year we finance several doctoral scholarships in cooperation with different universities.
Supplementary pension plan and health insurance
Our employees may apply for an additional payment into a supplementary pension plan. Moreover, they will also be registered in the supplementary health insurance fund, SaniPro, which allows for a partial reimbursement of expenditure on health care.
Gender Equality Plan
By adopting its own gender equality plan, Laimburg Research Centre promotes gender equality and has committed itself to diversity and plurality. By implementing the gender equality plan, existing measures for eliminating inequalities have been identified and areas established in which additional equality measures need to be implemented. For more information: Gender Equality Plan.
Employee appraisals and development meetings
We hold regular, structured employee appraisals with all staff members with a view to analysing performance, cooperation and development potential together. Clear targets, feedback and transparency are important aspects of this process.
