Work-life balance
We use flexi-time methods, part-time, working from home, and help with childcare costs so that staff are supported in finding their best work-life balance and in staying closer to their families. What is particularly interesting is our lack of fixed working hours in the afternoon and reduced hours on Fridays.
Onboarding
We help new staff members to join the company in a way that is as structured as possible. We also organise information events on a range of subjects, such as general introductions and guided tours of the Laimburg area.
Sustainability in practice
As well as our scientific projects, we aim for increased sustainability, including with in-house projects such as taking part in the "L’Alto Adige pedala" [South Tyrol by bike] or organised litter picking campaigns.
Parking space and public transport links
There is plenty of parking at Laimburg Research Centre and its outside premises. The main offices are also easy to reach by train (from Ora station) and by bus, and there is a direct cycle route from Bolzano. Staff can also carpool with other colleagues.
Internal and external training opportunities
We never stop learning or improving. And this is why we provide lots of opportunities for ongoing training. This also includes taking part in scientific conventions, seminars and research area events.

This plan helps us to identify any inequalities and to eliminate them with targeted measures. We focus a great deal on promoting women who are entering or returning to employment.
Career support
Acquiring work experience and studying for a PhD at the same time: we support staff with their academic training, such as PhD students, degree dissertations, or master's degrees. Every year, in collaboration with universities, we finance a range of bursaries for PhD students.
Staff development
We hold regular performance reviews with all collaborators, and these are structured so that we can look at performance, collaboration and development potential together. We focus on transparency and goals, and we always provide clear feedback.
Complementary employment pension and healthcare
Our staff can request to make additional payments to a complementary pension fund, and members are registered with an integrative health insurance, SaniPro, which includes partial reimbursement of healthcare expenses.
Free time
To boost communication and cohesion and to vary the working day, we organise events on a regular basis. We also guarantee the maximum flexibility when planning periods of holiday leave.
