Apple Proliferation
Apple proliferation. Current status of the research
by Katrin Janik, Dana Barthel, Tiziana Oppedisano, and Gianfranco Anfora
This volume collates the results of over six years of research and experiments performed as part of the projects involving Laimburg Research Centre and the Edmund Mach Foundation, achieved with the contribution of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano/Bozen, of the South Tyrol Apple Consortium and the Association of Trentino Fruit and Vegetable Growers (APOT).
Twenty-five authors provide an overview of the state of the art of research, with a range of detailed insights on apple proliferation, one of the most harmful phytoplasmas for this crop, widely found in Trentino South Tyrol. This work has therefore brought together the expertise and knowledge of the two institutes, capitalising on the varied technical and scientific backgrounds of the researchers involved, such as microbiology, plant physiology, entomology, and environmental science at molecular, macroscopic and geographical level.
